A flanged Z purlin is a cold-formed structural steel beam with a Z-shaped cross-section, featuring a central web and two parallel flanges. One flange is oriented in the opposite direction to the other, often with small "lips" at the ends for added stiffness, which allows the sections to be lapped (overlapped) at support points to create a continuous, high-strength structural span.
